Packing Up

2 Corinthians 1 :3  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Why some are healed and others are not we do not comprehend but we know that Our God is trustworthy and that our sufferings are for a reason.  He is our source of comfort in these times of suffering.  Gods footprint in our lives each day leaves an undeniable impression that He knows our pain and is present making a way for us through to the other side.  This daily touch builds trust and faith, strengthening us along the way.  As we encounter those with similar sufferings we can encourage them in a confident way.  My own sufferings are teaching me to lean on Him in a greater way.  In fact the daily activities of living are completed only by the grace of God.  As I look to our upcoming travels I KNOW that God will carry me.  It will not be my own strength but that of the Lord's so that He is glorified

2 Corinthians 1:8  We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia.  We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.  Indeed in our hearts we felt the sentence of death.  But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

God, we pray for that resurrection power to be present in this work.  Nothing is impossible for you.  We pray you would safely deliver us to Tenwek and work through us in a mighty way.  May the witness of your strength and power be evident as you bring us to this place.  Touch your people and bring the hurting and sick to be comforted and healed by the touch of your hand.

2 Corinthians 1:10  On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers.  Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

Thank you for joining us in prayer over this venture. I am already rejoicing in the answered prayers.  Our hearts are anticipating mighty works by God.  Please continue to join us in prayer for our upcoming travel, our children and Jimmy's parents, that overweight luggage and surplus bags will be received, that God would bring the patients in, discernment over surgeries, Jimmy's water filtration project.
