"Not by might, not by power but by my spirit says the Lord"

The Lord only knew the busyness of the week.  He goes before us and prepares us.  My weeks before the trip were relaxing and peaceful.  This was preparation for the weeks to come.  We arrived Sunday around 1pm after our 2 1/2 day journey.  6 surgeons, 1 family practice physician, and 5 helpers made up our team.  Sunday afternoon we screened patients in clinic and on Monday surgery began.  Each patient had a cleft lip, cleft palate or previous surgery needing a revision.  Mothers had come with their children from hours to days away.  they had been waiting for this life changing surgery for their children.  Each one hoped their child would be next.  We turned no one away.   The length of each day was long, from before dawn to way after the setting of the sun.  My manna each day came in the area of physical strength.  My physical exhaustion drove me into the hands of Jesus each day and night.  We labored over each child and gave everything we had but more importantly it was God in us.  In the end, 50 surgeries were completed.  God's presence prepared the way and gave us the strength for each day.  He was guiding our hands and continues to heal His beloved children.

Below is one of our precious patients!
