A day of Rest

After hospital rounds today, Jimmy and I were able to sneak away for a walk in rural kenya.  the landscape is like nothing you would see in the US.  Steep hills and rocky paths carried us into the forest.  Cows, goats, wild dogs, and chickens roam freely throughout the landscape.  Young boys are shepharding their goats.  Women and children work a quarry where they cut up stone to use for building.

In the afternoon we were blessed to visit Kitoben children's home.  the orphanage continues to grow now to 85 children.  I am beginning to learn their names and recognize faces from year to year.  we saw
Abigail, Bridget, Sandra and many more.  They wanted to touch our skin and hug us.  they were fascinated by pictures of themselves.  Another walk through the compound revealed their great needs.  they continue to cook over one wood burning stove.  the classrooms need desks.  the dining room floor is split and in need of replacement.  they have 4 cows presently but none are making milk.  the cow we donated last year died right before birthing a calf.  I will let the pictures tell the remainder of the story.

God's love flows in this place.  These are the children of the Lord and He is caring for them.  We are blessed to be involved in His plans of provision.  Please pray with us as we discern how we are to help here.  I don't think I will be able to go home and sit in a comfortable warm home without thinking about these children sitting on a cement floor and all there other needs.

Be blessed,
chase
