Pressing on toward the goal
The Lord continues to keep the door
open for us at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet Kenya.
We will be leaving for our fourth trip on April 27th. More than ever before, I feel the sacrifice
that is needed to serve in this capacity.
My cry recently has been, “Lord, I want to know you.” Paul enlightens us as to what it means to
“know Christ” in Philippians 3. He has
cast aside his confidence in the flesh and his natural abilities for the sake
of Christ.
“I want to know
Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his
sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the
resurrection from the dead.” Philippians
3:10-11
To know Christ is to
share in his suffering. Suffering comes
in many forms in this fallen world. As
we press forward with the power of the Holy Spirit for the sake of the Gospel
we share in Christ’s suffering. Praise
God that although we join him in his death we also are resurrected with
him. Our prayer is for this resurrection
power to flow into Tenwek and touch his people.
I will be serving as
specialty surgeon again in the wards of the hospital and the operating
room. Many diseases are way beyond my
natural abilities. We need God to
orchestrate divine appointments and pour out his healing power. This year I have many equipment needs and we
are praying for provision in this area.
Jimmy will be serving
again as salesman for “Water for Eternal Life”.
He hopes to bring 100 water filters, which provide a lifetime of clean
water to Kenyan families. We pray for
open doors to distribute the filters and shine Jesus’ love.
Our ministry at the
Kitoben Children’s Center continues.
They are in great need due to the loss of the cow that was provided last
year. We hope to financially contribute
again to this cause. Cow milk supplies a
large portion of the protein intake of the younger children. Kitoben is also in need of another building
to provide more room for schooling the children.
Our time for
preparations is short and the needs are great.
Please join us in prayer and financial provision so we can be the hands
and feet of Christ. Thank you so much
for your faithful offering to these ministries.
Sincerely,
Jimmy and Chase Miller
