Kitoben Children's Vision Center

"Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.  Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."  James 1:26-27

It was a blessing to visit the Kitoben (orphanage) center and see the commitment and dedication by the couple, Samwel and Alice Langat, that own and run this center.  The Word of God is intermingled in all that they do and teach throughout the day.  There are 60 children ranging from 3 years old up 18 years of age.  The children are on a break from school, but still receive teaching in the orphanage and will wear their designated school uniforms.  They sang us songs and recited some of their Bible Memory verses.  It was a humbling experience to see what little they have, and yet they are so thankful for what they have.

They do not have electricity and they do not have running water.  They collect rainwater from the roofs of the buildings, but it still needs filtering due to E. Coli, Salmonella, and other nasty bacteria and that's where Trinity Communion Church came into play!

I pray that I will be able to share the joy with you that they had when they saw and tasted this water!  They exclaimed that the Lord has blessed them mightily this day and they are so thankful to you all!!

In His Service,
Jimmy and Chase
