The last few weeks

“Dear Friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.”

1 John 4:11-12

This passage is preceded by the ultimate act of love by our Father in heaven—the act of sending His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, His love evident in human form through the Son. He poured out this same love onto us to be manifested through us to all mankind—irrespective of race or person, but because God loved us first. This manifestation of His love is completed in us.

The details and preparations to move to a different continent are meaningless in comparison to what He is asking us to do. We are to keep our eyes on Him, the obedience He calls us too, realizing that the little details don’t really matter. He has made a way for us financially through all of you, and for this, we are eternally grateful. Thank you for joining Him in this cause to love and serve His Kenyan people.

We leave the US on October 22nd and plan to arrive at Tenwek on October 25th. In between will be a period of time where we let go of the ones we love here. We have been saying little goodbyes over the last few weeks as we leave our jobs, coworkers, family and friends. The impact of all this may not hit us until we settle in and realize we are starting a whole new life. We refuse the thoughts to count the days when we return home again. We anticipate the abundant life in ultimately serving Him. We look forward to new friendships on the Tenwek field.

Thank you for your prayers during this transition. Below are some prayer requests, but only the Holy Spirit knows all the prayers we need.
